Park Pool Improvements Continue
In the off-season, several updates were undertaken for the Constitution Park in Cumberland. Tree planting, trail building, pavilion work were all done to improve the park’s amenities. The pool, which was built in 1939, also had some work done including a new liner in late spring. Parks and Rec Director Ryan Mackey tells WCBC the pool’s slide is also getting some needed attention…
“So the water slide – it just gets a gel coat on it every year. Helps just keep it protected – it’s in the sun all day. Chemicals from the pool are running over it 24/7. So some of that stuff gets eaten away so we have to recoat it.”
