Poll Supports Ending Advertising Tax Break for Pharma
Polling released Monday shows statewide support for fully funding Medicaid and eliminating a state tax deduction for pharmaceutical advertising. The legislation redirects the resulting revenue to protect health care coverage for lower-income Marylanders. The pollsters said ending advertising tax breaks would generate $24 million in revenue. Steve Raabe of Opinion Works said Marylanders support protecting healthcare programs…
“Nearly 9 out of 10 voters believe that the state of Maryland should play a role in helping to control healthcare costs and making sure that Marylanders have access to the healthcare coverage they needs. 85% of poll respondents said that Medicaid is important for people in their own local communities all across the state.”
