Presentation Made To WMSR, WCBC at RailFest

During the weekend events at RailFest, a former B&O and CSX machinist made a special presentation to Scenic Railroad director Wes Heinz and WCBC Radio. Thomas Starkey who worked at the B&O and CSX railroads and continues to be interested in railroading, presented a framed work he calls the “birth certificate” of the scenic railroad.  The work tells the story of the Western Maryland Chapter of the National Railroad Historical Society’s idea in 1983 to have a railroad that would run from Cumberland to Frostburg.
