Re-Election Bid For Bohn To School Board

The Allegany County Board of Education has three seats open in the coming election. One incumbent looking for a fourth term on the board is Dr. David Bohn. He tells WCBC that while board members are not heavily involved with day-to-day running of the schools, there are areas where they have responsibilities…

“It’s probably about 5-10% of the operations of the school you actually can control. Big ones are budget and who the superintendent is, those are probably the two biggest that you learn to deal with.”

Bohn said he heard from a former superintendent that was encouraged he was running…

“’Cause we need somebody sitting on the board that says that’s a stupid idea. And that’s my position. I sit there and let my opinion known when I think it may not be the best for our county and our students, our taxpayers and our students and moving us forward.”
