Redistricting Hearing Set For Today

Kathy Cornwell

Testimony will be heard this afternoon on Maryland’s redistricting attempts. A hearing will be held by the House Rules Committee starting at 3pm. Bad weather throughout the state forced a change to the hearing date, which was originally scheduled for Monday. Republicans claim the bill is being rushed through the House of Delegates and is designed to strip representation from millions of Marylanders. The Governor’s Redistricting Commission voted 4 to 2 to recommend new congressional maps be drawn for the state.
