Robbery, Home Invasion, Burglary, Assault Arrest

On September 6th, 2026 at approximately 3:23 a.m., officers from the Cumberland Police Department responded to the 1500 block of Oldtown Road for a reported breaking and entering, in progress. Upon arrival, officers observed signs of attempted forced entry on a door. Furthermore, officers could hear an on-going altercation. When officers gained entry to the apartment, the victims advised that Braydien Jenkins Mckenzie had assaulted them and taken some of their belongings before leaving through a window. One officer established a K-9 track for McKenzie, while other officers remained on scene to assist in treating one victim’s injuries. McKenzie was eventually taken into custody by the Cumberland Police Department. At the time, McKenzie had 3 active warrants, in addition to his on-view charges. McKenzie was transported to Central Booking. He was later presented before a District Court Commissioner and remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center without bond.
