Saturday Police Report

On July 10, 2026, officers with the Cumberland Police Department responded to the 300 block of Grand Avenue for a reported disturbance.

Upon arrival, officers located a male involved in the incident, who then fled the area on foot. Following a brief foot pursuit, officers located and took the individual into custody. Following an investigation, officers determined that the suspect, Frederick Robert Francis Jr had assaulted another individual during the disturbance, causing injuries.

Francis Jr. was transported to the Allegany County Detention Center. He is currently awaiting his initial appearance before a District Court Commissioner.

ARREST: Frederick Robert Francis Jr, Age 42, Cumberland, MD

CHARGES: Assault 2nd Degree, Disorderly Conduct, Failure to Obey a Lawful Order, Intoxicated Public Disturbance
