Chris Myers

Chris Myers is the Morning Show Producer, Broadcaster, at WCBC Radio in Cumberland, Maryland. Myers handles various operational, engineering duties for the station and directs the morning news. In addition to his broadcasting role, Myers is a prominent downtown Cumberland businessman and an active community member who helps organize local events. Myers has been with the Cumberland Broadcasting Company, which operates WCBC, since August 2019 and began his career in radio broadcasting at the age of 14 as a board engineer for WQOL in Florida. In 1998 he was promoted to Chief Engineer for WTTB 1490AM and WGYL 93.7FM. In 2001 Treasure Coast broadcasters purchased additional stations WOSN, WPAW and WGNX.

On Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at approximately 2:16 PM, an officer of the Cumberland Police Department conducted a traffic stop on Smallwood Street and identified the operator as Garry McConnell. A Police K-9 alerted to the odor of drugs inside the vehicle. A search was conducted and McConnell was found to be in possession of two different suspected controlled dangerous substances. McConnell was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters for processing. He was issued criminal citations and released pending trial.
