Sports Wagering Continues To Increase

Maryland’s sports wagering market continues to grow. In July, over $8 million dollars was turned over to the state in tax revenue. That total was an almost 17% increase over July of last year. Bettors wagered $496 million dollars in July, winning back $440 million. Of the $8 million in tax collections, $6 million went to the Maryland Blueprint For Education Fund, bringing the total contributed to the Blueprint since sports wagering began to over $283 million dollars.
