State Sheriffs Speak Against Further Limits With Feds

Even after Governor Wes Moore signed legislation banning so-called 287-g agreements in the state that allowed law agencies to cooperate with immigrations enforcement, some state senators feel it does not go far enough. All it’s going to do is amp ICE up on the streets and going out looking for individuals that we could have otherwise transferred safely into their custody at our local detention facilities.”
