Striped Bass Season Opens

Maryland’s Department of Natural Resources is implementing a shift in the striped bass season from the past two years. The catch and release season will now be through April 30th while harvest season will start May 1 and last through the end of July. Striped bass fishing is closed through the hot weather month of August and spawning rivers are closed through May 31 to protect spawning bass. An additional harvest season begins September 1. Anglers may refer to the DNR website for maps and more information.
