Town Hall to Discuss Savage River Safety Tower

A town hall will be held tomorrow at the Grantsville Volunteer Fire Department at 5pm to discuss a Public Safety Radio Tower project in the Big Savage River State Forest.  Residents can learn and ask questions about the project.  Jennifer Zambito Director of Maryland First at the Department of Information Technology says the tower is fully funded by a statewide Capitol Coverage Improvement Program focused on improving radio coverage in areas such as Savage River…

“The radio coverage, it’s really challenging to get down into the river valley.  Based on user reports out in Garrett County and noted on our side in doing some radio tests we observed that we could definitely make some coverage improvements out in that area.”
