Trooper 5 rescues Woman in Georges Creek

Emergency units were dispatched just after 11 AM Saturday to the 24000 block of Mill Run Road, Georges Creek for a woman that fell approximately 20 to 30 feet from the train bridge by Maryland State Police Trooper 5 helicopter. Saturday’s hoist mission was the first for Trooper/Paramedic Cameron Rogers, a Cumberland native and the newest crew member assigned to the Cumberland Section. The victim was flown to J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital trauma center in Morgantown, West Virginia.

Barton and Westernport volunteer fire departments, Tri-Towns EMS and Allegany County Department of Emergency Services responded to the incident.
