Turkey Season Junior Hunt April 11 & 12

Maryland’s statewide spring wild turkey season opens this weekend with the junior turkey hunt on Saturday and Sunday for hunters 16 and younger. The regular spring season opens on April 18, running through May 23. DNR officials say hunters may see more two-year old birds this year but less numbers of one-year old turkeys, known as “jakes.” The daily bag limit for the spring season is one bearded turkey with a season bag limit of two bearded turkeys.
