Two Deer Park Residents Charged with Child Neglect Following Overdose Investigation

On July 19, 2026, Deputies and Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division and Narcotics Task Force responded to Peach Tree Lane in Deer Park following a report of multiple overdoses. During the investigation, deputies discovered a three-year-old child inside the residence. Multiple individuals were transported to Garrett Regional Medical Center for medical treatment. As a result of the investigation, a criminal summons was issued by the District Court Commissioner for Thomas Lee Uphold Sr., 47, and Tonya Sue Uphold, 43, both of Deer Park, charging each with Child Neglect.
