Unauthorized Removal Vehicle Arrest

On Wednesday, March 11th, 2026, the Cumberland Police Department arrested Jakela Tonice Watkins, 36, of Cumberland MD. Watkins was arrested on an active Arrest Warrant issued by the Allegany County District Court for an incident that occurred on March 10th, 2026. During this incident, the complainant advised that they had rented a vehicle and allowed Watkins to borrow the vehicle for a short time. Once Watkins was in possession of the vehicle, she refused to have any contact with the original leasee and refused to return the vehicle. After contact was made with the rental company, the vehicle was reported to the Cumberland Police as stolen and a warrant issued for Watkins’s arrest. Watkins was taken before a District Court Commissioner for an Initial Appearance where she was released on a $5,000 unsecured bond.

CHARGES – M/V Unlawful Taking, Unauthorized Removal of M/V, Rogue and Vagabond, Theft $1,500 to under $25,000, Taking Veh. w/o Owners Consent.
