UPMC Announces Layoffs Across System

Across the footprint of UPMC, the health system has announced layoffs of 200 employees as well as cutting 300 open positions. A statement from a UPMC spokesperson indicated that as they regularly reassess services to ensure they match the needs of patients and members, limited reductions are occurring, primarily among those who are not in clinical or member-facing roles. UPMC is providing enhanced severance pay and benefits coverage for affected employees.
