Van Hollen Holding Back On Complete DHS Funding

After graduating from Frostburg State University, she worked extensively in cable television advertising and programming with Comcast. From 2002 to 2005, she was married to WCBC's Jim Robey. Complete funding for the Department of Homeland Security was left out of the latest bill passed to avoid a government shutdown. Democrats in the House and Senate have said they refuse to approve any funding for use in immigrations enforcement until significant reforms are introduced.  Senator Chris Van Hollen said he would like to see elements of DHS funding passed…

“The federal government is now funded for the rest of this fiscal year, not on a continuing resolution, but on a new appropriation. Everything except for DHS. My view is that we should very quickly pass elements of the Department of Homeland Security funding– TSA, which impacts all of our constituents, the Coast Guard, and FEMA.”
