Veteran Banners Still An Option

Continued discussion about banners to honor area veterans continued on Wednesday’s Dave Norman program. After a caller said he had been disappointed that Cumberland did not have banners on light poles like many smaller towns, Mayor Ray Morriss said that it was the Rotary Club who had done that in the city a few years ago, but the project would be welcomed again if presented by an interested party…

“If an organization wants to do something like that, then we’re more than willing to work with them. If we can do it through the downtown, I know there’s other areas like up and down Mechanic Street and Centre Street where we have the old style light poles and if somebody wants to put something up like that absolutely, we can accommodate that.”
