Virginia Avenue CDS Arrest

On Monday, January 19th, 2026, officers with the Cumberland Police Department arrested Jacqueline Camille Dean after responding to a report of a female panhandling at a business in the 400 Block of Virginia Avenue. Dean initially provided officers with a false name. She later correctly identified herself and advised officers that she had an active warrant issued by the Frederick County,MD Circuit Court for Violation of Probation due to a previous conviction of CDS Possession with Intent to Distribute, and the warrant was subsequently confirmed. During the arrest, officers found Dean in possession of suspected CDS and CDS paraphernalia. She was transported to the Allegany County Detention Center, where she was found to be in possession of additional suspected CDS while being processed. Dean appeared before a District Court commissioner for a bond hearing, and was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center without bond. The Frederick County warrant is being held as a detainer.
