Virginia Avenue Theft Arrest

On Sunday, August 2, 2026, Cumberland Police Department Officers responded to a business in the 400 Block of Virginia Avenue for the report of a theft in progress. Upon arrival, Officers were advised the suspect had fled the area and were provided with a description. Officers were able to locate the suspect and identified her as Brittany Rice. Rice was placed under arrest and taken before a district court commissioner, where she was released on her own recognizance pending trial.

ARRESTED: Brittany Lynn Rice, 40, Mount Savage, MD.
CHARGE: Theft Less Than $100.
