Warrant Arrests

On Thursday, October 29, 2026, Cumberland Police Department Officers responded to a business in the 700 block of Park St for a theft complaint. Upon arrival the officer spoke to an employee who advised the suspect had left and provided a clothing description. Officers located Patrick Martin a short distance away. Martin was found to have an active Arrest Warrant. Martin was placed under arrest and searched. During the search officers located stolen merchandise from the store. Martin was taken to the police station and served two criminal summonses from previous burglary and destruction of property investigations. Martin was then taken to the Allegany County Detention Center, where he was held without bond.

ON VIEW CHARGE: Theft over $100 to under $1,500
SUMMONS: Malicious Destruction of Property over $1,000.00, Burglary 4th Degree
WARRANT: Violation of Probation

Warrant Arrest
On August 19, 2026, Cumberland City Police responded to a breaking and entering of a business in the single-digit block of Park Street. During that incident the suspect broke the glass to the front door of the business. On October 28, 2026 Cumberland City Police responded to a business in the 400 block of Park Street. During that incident the suspect broke the glass to the front door of the business. In both burglaries the suspect entered the businesses and stole money. Officers viewed surveillance video from each incident and suspect photos were posted to the Cumberland Police social media site. Officers were able to develop Nathan Morgan as a suspect in both incidents. On October 28, 2026 Morgan was arrested on an unrelated warrant. During that arrest officers observed clothing and physical attributes of Morgan consistent with the suspect. Morgan was interviewed and applications for charges were completed in both incidents. On October 29, 2026 Morgan was served with two Arrest Warrants for these incidents. Morgan is currently at the Allegany County Detention Center being held without bond.

Charges for Incident 10/28: Burglary 2nd Degree, Burglary 4th Degree -Theft, Malicious Destruction of Property over $1,000.00, Theft over $1,500.00 to under $25,000.00
