Washington County Commissioners Support Detention Center

Despite demonstrations outside and inside the Washington County Commissioners meeting on Tuesday, the commissioners adopted a resolution supporting the location of an immigrations detention center in Williamsport, along with support for DHS, ICE, and local law enforcement. Prior to the meeting a large crowd of protestors assembled outside the Washington Street offices in Hagerstown. Some entered the meeting, blowing whistles and disrupting the proceedings. Commission president John Barr ordered the meeting room cleared and the livestream ended.
