West Virginia Bill To Protect Seniors From Crypto Scams

West Virginia State Senator Trenton Barnhart has the support of AARP in introducing a bill to protect from cryptocurrency scams. Crypto ATMs are appearing more frequently across the state, without regulation. Senator Barnhart’s bill would require licensure and put daily transaction limits. “These kiosks are used – they’re targeting older people, 60—plus. And it’s generally fraudulent activities. So that’s why these safeguards need to be in place. Licensure – right now these kiosks aren’t regulated at all in the state of West Virginia.”
