The West Virginia legislature will continue to meet through Saturday, but the state’s budget is complete and waiting on approval from Governor Patrick Morrisey.  The $5.5 billion dollar budget gives more funding for Medicaid in the state, funds an existing flood resiliency fund for the first time, and provides just under $300 million for the Hope Scholarship.  The governor’s much wanted 10% income tax cut was reduced to 5%, and state employees are budgeted for a 3% raise.
