West Virginia has become the latest state to fall victim to phone text scams targeting the state’s drivers.  The state Division of Motor Vehicles is reaching out to warn citizens of a new text scam claiming to be DMV and requesting payment.  The scam requests immediate payment for driving violations and threatens a short deadline before suspension of registration and driving privileges as well as prosecution and credit score damage. The West Virginia DMV is clear that it will never text drivers requesting payments.
