Woodside Avenue Assault, Reckless Endangerment Arrest

On Thursday, January 22, 2026, Cumberland Police Department Officers responded to the area of Woodside Avenue for the report of an assault with a hammer. Upon arrival, Officers located the victim, who advised that he had just assaulted by Tyler Westfall while inside his vehicle. He advised that Tyler struck his vehicle with a hammer, which then broke the window. The victim attempted to defend himself, which resulted in him being hit with the hammer. Westfall fled the scene prior to police arrival. Officers searched the area and located him in a business nearby. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Allegany County Detention Center, where he awaits his initial appearance.

CHARGES: Assault First Degree, Assault Second Degree, Reckless Endangerment, Destruction of Property.
