Aeon Technologies, LLC, located in Frostburg, MD, proudly announced today its strategic partnership with trusted community partner, the PharmaCare Network, in offering daily COVID-19 testing services. Beginning October 1, 2020, Aeon Technologies will be building on the success of two COVID-19 testing drives it established on the campus of Frostburg State University, by offering services to the general public.

Swabbing will be done by qualified nurses at PharmaCare’s corporate headquarters located at 3 Commerce Drive, Cumberland. Participants will be able to conveniently drive through the testing site without the need to exit their vehicle. Participants will be given the option for either nasal-pharyngeal or oral-pharyngeal swabbing. Laboratory processing will be conducted by Aeon, a CLIA certified and Maryland licensed laboratory.

The cost for testing will be $100, and PharmaCare will accept cash, check, or credit cards at the time of swabbing. Results will be produced within 24-48 hours. Hours of availability will be between 8:30 am – 4:00 pm Monday through Thursday and 8:30 am – 12:00 pm on Friday. This service is for high-complexity PCR diagnostic tests.
Individuals are encouraged to call ahead to obtain a same-day timeslot. The number to call is 301-723-2440 and press 0. The testing does not take the place of medical care and any patient in acute distress should seek care from a healthcare provider.
Aeon Technologies began operations at the Frostburg Advanced Technology Park in the midst of the global COVID-19 pandemic. It is the only minority-owned laboratory in the State of Maryland. Aeon has also developed a number of strategic partnerships with Frostburg State University to provide workforce training and internships for students of the university.
