City Police Make Theft; Assault on Officer Arrests

Theft Arrest

On June 30, 2016 the Cumberland City Police responded to McDonalds on Queen City Drive for a theft complaint. Officers made contact with the victim who advised Leo Richard Durocher Jr. had stolen their phone and was attempting to sell it. Officers contacted Durocher in the store who also had an open arrest warrant and attempted to place him under arrest. Durocher began causing a disturbance by banging his head and throwing himself onto the floor. Durocher was placed under arrest and transported to Police Headquarters where he was processed and taken for a bond hearing.

Durocher Jr., Leo Richard, age: 23, Cumberland Maryland

 

Assault on Police Arrest

On June 30, 2016 the Cumberland City Police responded to 644 Columbia Ave for a disturbance complaint. Upon their arrival they contacted the complainant who stated a male later identified as Thomas William Yoder Jr. had been breaking items in the residence. Yoder was contacted behind the residence at which time officers attempted to gain further information from him. Yoder became agitated and started becoming confrontational and aggressive towards the officers. During this time Yoder began approaching officers and was told several times to back away. Yoder continued his actions and began shoving his fingers into the chest of one of the on scene officers. Yoder was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to Police Headquarters where he was processed and taken for a bond hearing.
