Governor Larry Hogan today announced that COVID-19 hospitalizations in the State of Maryland have dropped below 100 for the first time, and are at their lowest recorded level of the pandemic. Overall, the state is reporting 97 COVID-19 hospitalizations—including an ICU census of 31.
74.8% of Adults Vaccinated. To date, Maryland has reported 6,882,339 vaccinations, and 74.8% of adults have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. President Biden set a national goal of vaccinating 70% of adults by the Fourth of July, which Maryland achieved by Memorial Day.
“As we enter the holiday weekend, all of our health metrics are at or near record lows, and we are approaching 75% of adults vaccinated,” said Governor Hogan. “There are still two days left to get vaccinated to be eligible for our $2 million Vax Cash Promotion—including the $400,000 grand prize drawing on July 4th.”
Sixth In The Nation For Fully Vaccinated. Maryland has fully vaccinated 56.1% of its population, which ranks sixth in the nation, according to the CDC.
Positivity Rate: 0.57%, Case Rate: 1.00 Per 100K. The statewide case rate is 1.00 per 100K, and overall, 13 of the state’s jurisdictions are reporting case rates in the green zone.
