CPD Responds To Hit & Run And Serves Warrant

On Monday, August 27th, 2018, the Cumberland Police Department responded to the area of the basketball court at Constitution Park for a vehicle accident.  When officers arrived, damage was observed to a 2007 Nissan and a one of the buildings next to the basketball court.  The vehicle was unoccupied with no one around.  Moments later, a male who identified himself as Ting Chen showed up and claimed that he was the vehicle owner.  Officers conducted an interview of Chen who initially said he was driving his vehicle at the time of the accident.  Chen later changed his story and admitted that he was not actually driving the vehicle and his friend Yiyone Fan was.  Fan was subsequently charged with failure of vehicle driver to stop after accident, failure of vehicle driver in accident to locate and notifiy property owner, and faiure of vehicle driver in accident to report property damage to nearest police.  Fan was issued citations and released pending trial.

Violation of Probation

 

On Monday, August 27th, 2018, the Cumberland Police Department served a violation of probation warrant on Sherry Lynn Ann Perkins.  The warrant was issued for failing to follow conditions of a court order set back in February 5th, 2018 by District Court.  She was taken before the District Court Commissioner and remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center held on a $500 bond.
