Cumberland Man Arrested After Spring Street Dispute

August 9th, 2020 by WCBC Radio

On Saturday, at 10:00 am, Cumberland City Police were contacted about an assault that occurred on Spring Street.

Officers learned from the victims that there was an argument in the residence during the morning hours over money. The argument then turned physical and the victims were assaulted by Branden Clark, age 23, of Cumberland.

Officers responded to the address where the incident occurred and contacted Clark. Upon contacting Clark and attempting to place him under arrest, Clark began resisting arrest. After a brief struggle with officers, Clark was taken into custody. Upon searching Clark following his arrest, a substantial amount of a control dangerous substance (CDS) was located on his person. Subsequently, Clark was charged with two counts of assault 2nd degree, resisting arrest, CDS possession not marijuana, and CDS possession with intent to distribute. Clark was later provided his Initial Appearance in District Court, and remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center without bail.

From the headline on down, one boo boo after another. A fine display of the results of unionizing public schools.

Well…Okay, Bob??? While there definitely are major probs w/ teacher unions and much of the ‘new age’ approach to education that’s failed large part of this generation esp in teaching critical thinking skills & personal accountability ~ I’m not quite clear as to how this article directly and fully supports your claims. Here’s a 23 year old man caught breaking the law and hopefully will be fully held accountable for his actions~ possibly for the 1st time in his young life. Ultimately he’ll pay for his crimes and at the same time, be rehabilitated by learning lessons and become a better member of our community. If not, we’ll sadly watch him age with each new mug shot and it’ll be another life wasted.

      > Clearly, from my first sentence, I was addressing the failings of the writer, not the perp noted in the article who obviously had nothing to do with the buggered headline. Thanks for reinforcing my point.

        > Bob sometimes you have to beat them over the head with it. I agree that the response proves your point. Sad but true.

I’m fairly certain that the writer is either Mac’s age or only slightly younger; so Bob I don’t believe your point holds.

      > It was comment 2 that suggested the schools had failed only the perp’s generation, not me. The problem is not just a recent one and I am certain the writer’s generation was subjected to unionized public schools.
