On 08/19/2018 at approximately 3:30 AM an officer from the Cumberland City Police Department observed Devonte Ray Emerson driving on Greene Street. The officer was familiar with Mr. Emerson and believed he had a suspended license. Dispatch confirmed that Mr. Emerson’s privilege to drive was suspended. The officer initiated a traffic stop and Mr. Emerson fled on foot. Mr. Emerson was taken into custody after a brief pursuit. Mr. Emerson was taken before a District Court Commissioner. Mr. Emerson was held on $7,500.00 bond and was transported to the Allegany County Detention Center.
