Each Memorial Day weekend for the past nine years, thousands of people from across the nation have converged on the Allegany County Fairgrounds for DelFest- one of the premier music festivals in the nation. Hall of Fame Bluegrass legend Del McCoury began the annual festival in 2008- and it has grown each year in popularity. But the event is more than just great entertainment- as the DelFest Foundation was established in 2010 to raise awareness and funds for deserving local nonprofit organizations. With a growing heroin crisis in the area, Allegany County Commissioner Bill Valentine says a focal point of the foundation in the near future could be targeting the drug problem…
