Morgan Wootten, the legendary high school basketball coach, has died at the age of 88. Starting in the late 1960's,

Wootten brought DeMatha to the Alhambra Catholic Invitational Tournament almost every year until his retirement in 2002. The Stags were perennial favorites and frequent champions. In recent years, he conducted his annual summer basketball camp at Frostburg State University. He called the ACIT, “the most prestigious Catholic high school tournament in the country.”
