Officers in the area near the intersection of Columbia at Knox St. heard subjects yelling. They then observed a male subject later identified as Zachary Charles Goldsworthy walk up to another subject and punch him. They were then separated at which time Goldsworthy was placed under arrest. Another subject involved was stopped in the middle of the street in her car. She was contacted and identified as Courtney Barefield-Younger by the officers. She began to yell creating a further disturbance. She was advised to stop creating a disturbance or she would be placed under arrest. A strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected on her breath and person. She continued to create a disturbance and was also placed under arrest. Both were transported to PH where they were charged and processed.
Courtney Chea Barefield-Younger Age: 25 Fayette St., Cumberland
Charges: DUI, Disorderly Conduct
She was charged and released pending trial in District Court
Zachary Charles Goldsworthy Age: 25 Memorial Ave., Cumberland
Charges: Assault 2nd Degree, Disturbing the Peace, Disorderly Conduct, Obstructing and Hindering
Goldsworthy was taken for a Bond Hearing and released on his personal recognizance.
