Police Respond to Breaking-and-Entering of Vacant Property

On Friday, August 6th, 2021 the Cumberland Police Department responded to a vacant residence on Lennox Place for the report of individuals inside that are not supposed to be there.  When officers arrived, they observed the rear door had been forced open.  Officers made entry and found a male, identified as Cory Jacob Bennett, hiding upstairs.  Bennett was arrested and charged with malicious destruction of property and 4th degree burglary.  He was taken before the District Court Commissioner and was released on his own personal recognizance pending trial.
