Possible shooting near Hagerstown

On 02/8/2019 at approximately 2:11 AM, Troopers from the Hagerstown Barrack responded to the area of Rt. 40 in the area of Stottlemeyer Road for a possible shooting.

 

The caller who was also a witness to the incident advised she observed an older model Ford Pick-up truck, either dark blue or dark green in color, traveling westbound on Rt. 40 west of Stottlemeyer Rd.  The witness advised the driver leaned out of the driver side window and fired a shot at a pedestrian, the pedestrian then fell to the ground.  The witness advised the pick-up truck continued to travel westbound on Rt. 40 before turning South on Rt. 66 toward Boonsboro.

 

            Both Troopers and Washington County Deputies searched the area for any evidence of the incident.  Neither the victim nor evidence was located during the search.  Troopers notified hospitals in Washington and Frederick County, Martinsburg and Chambersburg.
