Three new cases of COVID-19 at Cumberland Healthcare Center

COVID-19 cases in Allegany County are now at 122, with three new cases identified today.  The new cases include two employees and one resident of Cumberland Healthcare Center.  There are now a total of 74 residents at CHC that have tested positive. On Wednesday, Governor Hogan announced plans for universal testing of all residents and staff of nursing homes, regardless of the presence of symptoms of COVID-19.  Nursing homes are also required to have every patient given a daily physical evaluation by a physician, physician’s assistant, nurse practitioner, or registered nurse. Testing counts in Allegany County as of Wednesday show a total of 912 residents tested, with 767 negative, 122 positive, and 23 still pending.
