City Opens Second Downtown Sponsorship

The Cumberland Main Street organization has opened a second phase of naming opportunities for downtown assets in the newly revitalized Main Street district.  Similar to the 17 benches downtown, the 53 trees in the area can be sponsored by applying at City Hall or online at citizenserve.com/cumberland.  Main Street Manager Melinda Kelleher says the sponsorship opportunity is on a first come first serve basis…

“It costs $500 to sponsor a tree and that sponsorship lasts for the life of the tree—which will hopefully be forever.  What you will get for that is a very pretty plaque on a stake that will go in front of the tree.  All of the net proceeds that we raise will be used to support the care and maintenance of all the trees and seasonal planting and all the landscaping on Baltimore Street.”
