Tax Deadline Is Here

Last minute filers are scrambling today to get their annual income taxes filed by midnight tonight. With the deadline comes questions for some taxpayers who may find they owe money to the IRS. Extensions are available for filing the forms, but not for making payments.  Joe Mullenax with Allegany Business Consulting says the best action is do something rather than nothing…

“You need to try to file your return if you can anyway. And pay what you can. If you can’t pay $10,000, pay $5,000 or $3,000, a thousand – pay something to try and mitigate how much interest and penalty you will have for not paying on time.”
