Water Line Warranty To Be Offered

Kathy Cornwell

Cumberland City residents will have the option to take out a warranty on their water and sewer lines.  Homeowners are responsible for those lines that connect to the city’s main lines. Utility Service Partners is offering voluntary warranty coverage for repair, maintenance, and replacement of both resident water and sewer lines.  City Administrator Jeff Silka says citizens will receive a letter endorsed by the City, but the decision is entirely up to homeowners…

“For a monthly fee, it gives you that protection.  So, if you have a leak in front of your house that you have to dig up outside the City right-of-way, it could cost up to $5,000.  So, what this is a completely voluntary warranty program.”
