A major economic development milestone for West Virginia’s industrial sector is on the way as global engineering group Sandvik and Alpha Metallurgical Resources have agreed to establish a manufacturing presence in the state. A $25 million investment is expected to create at least 120 new jobs at a new 100,000 square feet facility primarily focused on rock bolt and resin capsule manufacturing, but with potential to expand the product offering over time. AMR owns mines in West Virginia and Virginia. Sandvik provides engineering solutions for mines and infrastructure industries.
