The Patriot Profiles of Western Maryland program this summer will highlight the Deakins Land Survey, according to Professor Adam Lewis with the Little Meadow Chapter of the Sons of the Revolution.  On June 9^th at the Frostburg Public Library and July 9^th at the Transportation Museum in Oakland, Maryland, Lewis will give a presentation on 50 men from the area who fought in the war and received land grants…

“We’re going to look at who the patriots were, where they lived in Western Maryland and we have found so many new pieces of information about why soldiers decided to settle in Western Maryland and those who perhaps, decided not to settle in Western Maryland. We’re kind of unlocking some of the mysteries from the 1770s, 1780s, and 1790s.
