Ozempic Price Set for State & Local Government Employees

Maryland’s Prescription Drug Affordability Board has set upper limit payments for the weight loss drug Ozempic for those on state and local government insurance programs. New pricing should save the plans $5.8 million a year starting in January. Maryland Citizen’s Health Initiative Director Catherine Robbins says setting payment limits on Ozempic now will start helping all Marylanders with the drug’s cost…
“That puts us on track to see those statewide savings in January of 2028, and those savings are substantial – estimated to be up to $164 million a year.”
