Three County Projects to Receive Over $250,000

The Maryland Department of Natural Resources has announced that over $250,000 will be spent on three projects in Allegany County. These funds are part of the Community Parks and Playgrounds program. Westernport will receive $200,000 to renovate the existing concession stand into a pavilion, construct pickleball courts, a walking track, parking lot, and improve the softball field. The town of Lonaconing will receive over $32,000 for the construction of two pickleball courts. The city of Frostburg’s Parris Glendening Recreation Complex will receive almost $24,000 to purchase and install solar powered LED lighting and associated generators for the basketball and pickleball courts.
