Image Description: Wes Moore, Governor of State of Maryland

The summer conference of the Maryland Municipal league heard its keynote speech from Governor Wes Moore on Tuesday. He recounted many stories of the state working together with municipalities, including flooding in the Georges Creek area. He said when Marylanders are in need, cities, towns, and the state step up…

“That when our people were in trouble, we were not going to leave them behind. That how they voted does not matter. If they were Marylanders that’s all we needed to know. That’s what this organization does every single day. That our party affiliation or how people voted is irrelevant.”

He gave words or reassurance for the Western Maryland area…

“And I want to say to all of our friends in Western Maryland we have your backs today, we have your backs tomorrow, we have your backs always here in the state of Maryland.”
