Delegation Waiting On Date For Special Session

Members of Maryland’s House and Senate are waiting a go-date for the special session on redistricting in Annapolis. WCBC News spoke with Senator Mike McKay who was told to hold two dates open and should know for sure by the end of the week. The session comes after the state’s primary and under pressure from Democrats nationwide. McKay said the special session really isn’t necessary to do what the majority party wants…
“I’m expecting we’re going to waste the taxpayer’s money because this is something so political it’s unbelievable. I do believe they’ll pass new congressional maps. My understanding is it wouldn’t even take effect until 2028.”
