The 4th of July holiday is filled with events in the area. The Constitution Park pool is open today and will close at 3 p.m. to prepare for the fireworks show beginning near 9:30 p.m. The annual Derby Day in Frostburg gets underway at 9:30 this morning. Events are slated all day at Canal Place and the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad. The Cumberland Historic Cemetery Organization will convene its annual Independence Day event at 10 a.m. at its West Side headquarters.
