Cumberland Police Department Investigates Multiple Vehicle Tampering Incidents

Over the weekend of July 10–12, 2026, the Cumberland Police Department responded to multiple reports of motor vehicle tampering in the south end of Cumberland. On Sunday night, officers identified and apprehended three juvenile suspects. The juveniles’ guardians were notified. Due to the suspects’ ages and the ongoing investigation, no further information will be released. The Cumberland Police Department reminds residents to lock their vehicles, remove valuables whenever possible, and avoid leaving personal belongings visible inside unattended vehicles. Anyone who believes their vehicle may have been tampered with during this time and has not yet reported the incident is encouraged to contact the Cumberland Police Department at 301-777-1600 to file a report. No additional information regarding the investigation will be released at this time.
